Ive got to research it more, but as a R6 user looking to jump into eurorack this year Im planning to go this route myself. Youd need a wall of modules to get even close to that p. Might be a less expensive way to go than Expert Sleepers. In my humble opinion, the personal computer (mac/pc) is the most powerful modular synth you can get. Probably an easier option is to hook your MS20 up via MIDI and use one of the Reaktor MIDI sequencers to control it. I havent done it yet myself, but I believe you can also use something like a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 to connect Reaktor 6 to eurorack. he explains connecting Reaktor via a DC coupled interface in this video. Maybe these can also translate control signals to the format Korg uses, dunno. This guy Michael Hetrick has build tons of awesome blocks inspired by eurorack modules. People use these with Eurorack with no problems at all. You could look into getting a fancy DC-coupled audio interface such as the Expert Sleepers ES-8. So even if you get your MS 20 to respond to the output of your SEQ-8 it won'd do so in a way that makes any sense. Then, Korg unfortunately uses a control voltage format that's different from what the rest of the world uses. My setup consists of Ableton Live 9, a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6, Expert Sleepers Es-4 (the spdif one) and my modular system plus a bunch of midi synths and drum machines. Not sure what you mean by "MS 20 hooked up on input 1 and getting a signal when attach input 1 directly to output 1 and 2" but I'm pretty sure getting Bento Box SEQ-8 to control an MS 20 simply by hooking its control inputs up to a sound card isn't going to work (flawlessly).įirst of all you need an audio output that's "DC coupled", meaning it will output the type of control voltages that, say, the SEQ-8 produces. I have a eurorack hardware system which I dream of using in conjunction with Reaktor, and now that 1.2 is out, it seems easier than ever.
