The hotel hallway is very familiar because I used to go to lots of anime conventions in the before time. the Stanley parable used to be my favorite with it’s offices that seem recently vacated, but Superliminal has taken it with the hotel hallways and industrial corridors. If you’re worried about the scary section: nothing happens. At one point later on it uses the mechanics it’s taught you to trick you into falling down a hole, and made me say “Oh you clever bastards!” There’s a section devoted to jokes about blocks and how many ways it can subvert your expectations of blocks. It’s also a comedy game, it tells jokes through gameplay, without words. It’s about looking at the obstacle in the right way. I’m going to say it’s not exactly a puzzle game, despite the marketing description. Superliminal was incredible! I love a game that plays with impossible architecture and your expectations.
